So too are Carroll’s delightful verses such as The Walrus and the Carpenter and the inspired jargon of that masterly Wordsworthian parody, The Jabberwocky. Also included are some of Carroll’s miscellaneous pieces of work, of which the best-known is perhaps the mock-heroic Hunting of the Snark which epitomises the author’s enormous gift for nonsense verse.”
